The Deutz ignition switch, with its key, controls the glow plugs and then the engine start. When worn, it sticks, no longer returns to position or no longer passes current to the starter: the tractor stays at a standstill for a part that is simple to replace.

Identifying your Deutz ignition switch
This key switch fits Cirta C4006, C6006 and C6807 tractors. It has a pre-heat position before starting. Note the part number on the body of the old switch, then compare the number of terminals. If in doubt, send us a photo from the contact page.
Replacing it without wiring mistakes
First disconnect the battery. Then photograph the wires of the old switch before removing them, or mark them with tape. Reconnect each wire to the same terminal on the new switch, then tighten the mounting nut without forcing. Finally, reconnect the battery and test the pre-heat, then the start.
